In-line with UK Government and UK Active guidelines, we are now able to offer the following types of group and 1:1 classes at Yoga Mama Wellness.

  • Online group classes and workshops
  • Online and in-studio private 1:1 sessions
  • In-studio group classes (from Monday 17 May 2021)

As Covid-19 social distancing regulations are gradually eased over the coming weeks and months, we will keep you informed about any other services that we will be able to offer you.

CHANGES TO OUR STUDIO

Yoga Mama Wellness and our colleagues at The Putney Clinic of Physical Therapy are taking the steps below in order to ensure the safety of both our teachers and students during the Covid-19 pandemic. As time progresses, we hope to be able to relax some of these policies. However, in the current climate, these changes are necessary to keep everyone safe and the studio open.

AIR CONDITIONING

The entire Putneymead Medical Centre building is now served by a state-of-the-art extraction-based air conditioning system. This system offers excellent temperature control, while continually replacing air in the building with fresh, external air. We have also installed a HEPA air filtration unit in our studio, which uses ultraviolet light to kill bacteria and viruses. As a further precautionary measure, hand sanitiser is also available at designated points within the studio and clinic.

TEACHER MEETING POINT

Currently everyone coming into the Putneymead Group Medical Practice building has to report to the reception desk. Upon arrival, if there is a queue to enter, we ask that you wait for your teacher at our designated Meeting Point. This is by the big tree outside the Putneymead building. Please arrive no earlier than 5-10 minutes before your class is due to start. If there isn't a queue to get in the building, please make your way up to the second floor and report to reception.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN CLASS

We have scheduled our timetable to take into account longer changeover times between classes. This helps to avoid crowding and the overlap of students arriving and leaving the studio. In addition, before and after each class, we will be cleaning and sanitising high touch points in the studio. We have reduced our studio class capacity to 6 in order to allow correct (1m+) social distancing . Where possible, we aim to offer students the option of taking the same class online.

  • When you arrive, if there is a queue to enter the building, please meet your teacher at the designated meeting point. This is by the large tree outside the Putneymead building.
  • If there isn't a queue, please make your way up to the second floor.
  • Avoid arriving any earlier than 5 to 10 minutes before your class is due to start.
  • Please use a face covering in all communal areas within the building. You may remove this once inside the studio.
  • Remember to wash your hands or use the sanitising gel provided before entering the studio.
  • We have delimited mat spaces in order to help you stay physically distanced.
  • Please bring your own mat and any small props you wish to use. We cannot provide mats or props at present.
  • Keep personal belongings to a minimum. You will be provided with a box to keep your belongings in while in the studio.
  • Teachers will not be offering hands-on adjustments for the time being.

CLASS BOOKINGS, PAYMENTS & CANCELLATIONS

Our in-studio classes have a maximum capacity of 6 students. These classes are offered on a first-come first-serve basis and we ask students not to arrive at our studio without a valid class reservation. This means that students must make all class bookings and payments online in advance through our online booking system. At present we are unable to take class bookings or accept cash payments at reception.

  • Enrolment on classes closes 60 minutes before advertised class start times.
  • If you cannot attend a reserved class, we request that you cancel at the earliest possible opportunity (24 hours before your scheduled class).
  • You can manage your own class reservations using your booking confirmation email. If this is not possible, you should contact Cherie Lathey on 07939 589 083.
  • Failure to attend a reserved class without prior cancellation will result in the loss of that class credit.
