Francesca Garofano is a Pilates teacher at Yoga Mama Wellness. She took up Pilates in 2006 and was instantly hooked. Practising Pilates gave her greater awareness of her body and her movements. Among the physical improvements she noticed were better posture, coordination and flexibility, increased muscle tone and even better memory skills. This would subsequently serve as inspiration in her teaching.
Francesca qualified as a Fitness 2000 Pilates teacher in 2012 through Polestar Pilates in Rome. After qualifying, she taught extensively to students of all levels in Pilates studios and sports clubs in Naples. Francesca continues to further her knowledge of the different forms of Pilates. In 2017, she qualified to teach Reformer Pilates and, most recently, she has also qualified as a Barre instructor. In addition to this, Francesca regularly undertakes other Pilates training courses, encompassing areas such as Pregnancy Pilates, Low Back Pain and the Pelvic Floor.
Among Francesca’s interests away from the Pilates mat are Yoga, Tai Chi, aerial fitness, photography, painting and playing the piano.

My Yoga Mama practice keeps me balanced, energised and sane. It takes a huge effort to drag myself out of bed on a Saturday morning. After practice, the stress and strains of the past week disappear and I feel strong enough to take on the world.Karen Gill MBE
